THE PRODUCT

Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) are a pre-engineered panel consisting of two facings of Oriented Strand Board (OSB) bonded by pressure injection CFC/HCFC free polyurethane closed cell foam. They are an environmentally friendly building material, both in construction process and the finished build where they provide significant thermal insulation properties.

From Architects' drawings the panels are computer designed then engineered at our Milgavie factory. These panels are then delivered to site and assembled by our team of trained technicians. Site assembly is significantly quicker than more traditional builds; from finished foundation to completed SIP structure in approximately ten days. Additionally, due to the pre-engineered nature of the panels we achieve minimum on-site wastage.

SIPs forms the strength, insulation and structural envelope of the building and the panels are also used for the roof and internal load bearing walls. When used for the roof the structural strength of the panels eliminates the requirement for trusses enabling full use of the roof area. This design benefit allows greater flexibility of layout and access to more usable living space.
